" Shade Tree" Oil 8x8

This summer while on a farm tour around our area I took a picture of this lone tree out in the field. I thought it was pretty out there by itself.

9x12 Oil

This painting is similar to the one I painted in June. Instead of apricots I used nectarines.

I tried using a larger deep purple bowl for this but just couldn't get it to work. Nectarines are not easy to paint by the way.

12x16 Oil

Edgar Payne is one of my favorite landscape artists. I decided to make a copy of one of his sail boat paintings called "Brittany Boats" which was painted in the early 20's. I learned so much while painting this. I love the colors and how he put down the brush strokes side by side with no blending.
